Endure life’s trials
The Bible provides many examples of women who arose to fulfill the purposes of God in their lives, through their demonstration of faith, purpose and endurance. However, we will only discuss a few of them.
Hebrews 11 speaks about Sarah who received the strength to conceive and was delivered of a child when she was past age. We can also refer to the woman with the issue of blood in the New Testament.
In Luke 8, it is said that the woman having an issue of blood for twelve years had spent all her living upon physicians who could not heal her. She touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was immediately healed.
In Luke 10:38-42, we are told of a lady named Martha who instead of sitting with Jesus and learning from him, chose to focus on the wrong things and missed the point of his visit. Similarly, we are busy doing everything else and concerned about what others think about us, instead of learning more about God and drawing closer to him.
In the book of Judges, we are told about Deborah. Deborah served her purpose as a prophetess, wife, judge and mother of Israel. She led the Israelites back to the Lord and led them to victory. In spite of what everyone around her was doing, she remained strong, brave and listened to the voice of God.
Esther had her moment to shine irrespective of the consequences. In Esther 4:14, Mordecai advised her “if thou holdest thy peace at this time, deliverance shall arise to the Jews from another place. Esther overcame her fear and saved her people from destruction.
In the Old Testament, we are told about a woman named Hagar, who was Sarah’s handmaid. When she fled from Sarah
due to ill-treatment, the angel met her in the wilderness and told her that
Lord had heard her affliction and told her to return home. Even in the worst of
situations, God sees, hears, and answers.
Women of God, we can ARISE in different areas of our lives because we play various roles as women. We can ARISE in church and our ministry, our community, our home, our workplaces and our society as a whole. We can also ARISE from depression, anxiety, fear, doubt and financial difficulties.
Arise in your faith, arise with a new mindset, arise in your purpose, arise and shine your light and arise in your endurance.
God bless you.
