Faith is believing in the impossible. However, we cannot see faith with our naked eyes. We can only see faith through our works or our actions. That is why the Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God.
We are limited by our natural eyes because our eyes want us to only believe what we can see. However, that is contrary to what faith is. Faith is believing in the unseen.
Have you ever had a faith experience?
I have had numerous experiences. For example, I remember one morning I was traveling to work and my fuel level was very low. I didn't want to stop at the gas station because if I stopped, I would have ended up being very late for work and so I put my faith into action and I started praying and I said Lord please help me to make it to work with this little gas that I have. Believe me, it took just a few minutes, probably less than two (2) minutes for God to act on my faith.
When I looked at the fuel level, I realized that it started to increase. I don't know how it happened but I know that God did it. I just responded by saying Thank You Jesus. I was glad I was able to make it to work with the low gas level and actually went to the gas station after work was finished. That is faith, believing in the impossible.
We know that God can do anything. Once we ask of him, he will do it for us. Many persons have had many experiences, however we cannot activate faith just by believing. Faith has to be activated through our actions. We have to move with the belief that something is going to happen.
I can remember another incident that happened recently. I wanted to do a course and I didn't know where the money was going to come from to do the course. I decided within myself that I am going to go and apply for this course. The course would have lasted for 3 months, however we had to pay the total cost up front before the course started.
I didn't know how I was going to pay it so I sent the institution an email asking them if I could defer the payment until the end of the first month and they gave me approval to do so. Even with that approval, I didn't know where the money was coming from. However, I continued with the course and when the end of the first month came for me to make the payment, I went ahead and I made the payment from my salary.
It was a large amount and when I made the payment, there was nothing much left to really do much and I prayed and I said God, I don't know how I'm going to survive this month but God, I know you're going to make a way.
God was so gracious unto me that he allowed me to go through that month until I got paid again. I don't know how it happened but God did it. I was able to complete that course and every time I look back at that situation, it builds my faith in God.
I'm sure most of you can share similar experiences. When you look back, you say to yourself, how did I get through? It is only by the grace of God that we go through each day. The bible says that if we have faith as small as a mustard seed, we can say to the mountain, be moved and it is moved.
The reason why so many of us are struggling is because we do not believe and we do not know how to activate our faith. But we have to first believe that God is going to work it out for us because he is a rewarder to them that diligently seek him.
I don't know if you have ever struggled with paying your tithes. That is one of the avenues that the enemy attacks. If you look at the amount that you get for your salary and you compare this to your expenses, you may say to yourself, there's no way that I'm going to pay tithes and survive till next pay day.
We have to always remember that all we have belong to God and all he requires of us is that we give him only one tenth of our gains. Yet we struggle to give him what is already His. Whenever you get paid, take out your tithes first without thinking too much about the expenses. It will amaze you how much God will allow the little you have to stretch until you get paid again. If you are struggling with paying your tithes, give this try and share your experience with us.
God will always work everything out for your good once you put him first. Many christians struggle with activating their faith in God and that is the reason why so many people do not have their own testimony or experience of God moving in a powerful way in their lives.
If you activate your faith today, I can assure you that God will act upon your faith. God loves when you activate your faith so that he can show you how big, great, marvelous, powerful, and mighty he is.
Walk by faith and not by sight.
